This poem seemed to be very difficult to translate. In fact, it is so vivid and atmospheric that it takes breath away, and one wants to plunge into its depths and feel the same feelings which the author had been feeling when writing it. Especially when the spirits is not the highest, and it seems that nothing is going right, it’s worth setting about translation of such a poetry, and instantly, something magical will open, like the mysterious heroes’ feelings.

They can live in different cities,
Even missing all the point in talks
But the words he writes to her in letters
Seem to her like never read before, like first.

When she doesn’t get his letters
Crying, counting what she’s lost
She hates everything he said, so that is
All she can remember, every word.

When he opens the world like a workbench
As though shaping it under his love,
All he’s doing for her, all his efforts
Make her know she means all in his life.

Because seeing her off to the station at night
And expecting she’d stay after all
Was the worst of the torments he had in his heart,
Heavy moment of dangerous woes.

So this winter he wants to be near her,
Sleep with her like a dog with a child,
Put the meteorites on her pillow –
Guard her dreams, warm her up for the night.

And he says, ‘let it be with no secret, be honest’.
Counting blizzards, she says, ‘let it be’.
Only words can protect them from cloudy nonsense,
Playing heart in the body is vivid and free.
